Sydney’s iconic Circular Quay resembles a ghost town as cafes, restaurants and other non-essential businesses close right across the city.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison ordered all non-essential businesses to close their doors at midday on Monday as part of strict new measurements to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Portobello Café owner Alessandro Fuscaldo said his sales already dropped by 90 per cent and he had already laid off more than 20 staff members.
“I can’t see it getting better very soon, so hopefully the government will shut everyone down properly and get this done with in a month or two,” he said.
